The Prompt Teacher ("The Prompt Teacher," "we," "I," "me") operates the website thepromptteacher.com and The Prompt Teacher Collective membership community. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit the site, join the email list, or become a member — and how it's used and protected.

- Email address — when you sign up for free lesson updates or join the Collective.
- Name and account details — when you create a membership account.
- Payment information — when you subscribe. Payments are processed by our membership and payment providers (see below). I never see or store your full card number.
- Anything you choose to share — messages you send me, posts or comments inside the community, or replies to emails.
Information collected automatically
- Basic usage and device data (such as pages visited, browser type, and general location) gathered by the site host and standard analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used.
How I use your information
- To deliver the free lesson emails and member resources you signed up for.
- To create and manage your membership account and process payments.

- To improve the lessons, the site, and the Collective.

Running the Collective relies on a few trusted third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it handles:
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — email list and newsletter delivery.
- Circle — the membership community platform and checkout.
- Stripe — secure payment processing for subscriptions.
- Netlify — website hosting.
- Google — email correspondence (thepromptteacher@gmail.com).
I only share the information these providers need to do their job. I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
Cookies
The site and membership platform use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure basic traffic. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how parts of the site work.
How your information is protected
I use reputable providers that maintain industry-standard security, and I limit access to your information to what's needed to run the Collective. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but I take reasonable steps to safeguard your data.

- Access, update, or delete your personal information — just email me and I'll take care of it.
- Cancel your membership at any time from your account.

Children's privacy
The Prompt Teacher is built for teachers and other adults. The site and the Collective are not directed to children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Classroom resources are intended to be used by educators with their students; I do not collect information directly from students through this site.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the site.
